Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins (born in Mexico) is an Mexican American sportscaster. Her current job is with ESPN as a anchor for SportsCenter as well as occasionally hosting SportsNation. She began working for ESPN in the year 2016. Her mother is television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is a bilingual woman and has been so since the age of nine. This skill allowed her to land her first job at Univision, Miami. She was able to work alongside national producers on shows such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. After this she was hired by her CBS subsidiary in St. Petersburg employed her as a sport reporter. In 2009, she relocated from Texas into Rio Grande Valley where she began her news reporting on KNVO TV 48 Univision. In reporting on news stories about the trafficking of drugs and immigration across the border of Mexico and Texas. Border, she served as reporter for news for KNVO TV 48, the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 at 5 pm. She was an anchor for the news channel with a news anchor in English for 9 pm, then a news anchor for 10pm, before returning back to KNVO TV 48, the Spanish channel. She was also frequently required to act as a sports or weather anchor. Later, she was anchor and reporter for Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was granted more responsibilities. She was a reporter for the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series and Dallas Cowboys, NBA postseason, Finals FC Dallas as well the Dallas Stars. Additionally, she was the producer of Univision 23's local sports show Accion Deportiva Extra on which she was anchor. She became a sports host for the morning program of Despierta America Deportes. The anchor also worked in similar roles on the magazine program of the network Primer Impacto and for UniMas Network's Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins was born in the city of Veracruz, Mexico. At some point they moved into Mexico City where she was born on 22 November 1985. Also, she has a younger sibling. Her family left in 1992 Mexico and moved to Miami. After a short time, her father separated from her mother. She later remarried in the year 1995 to a naval architect whose name was Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo passed away from kidney cancer in 2006. On a trip, Antonietta stayed at the house of her sister Canton Ohio. Her older Collins brother had recently been offered an offer to work. Antonietta who was in high school with an idea of what she thought her future would be like, visited Mount Union University to determine whether the university was suitable for her. She discovered that she liked the campus as well as the fact that it offered the major she wanted. She finished school and attended the university as a major in media studies. She developed a long-lasting relationship with her professor Mark Bergmann who was the director at WRMU 91.1 FM of which she was a part. Her professor urged her to believe in herself and was greatly moved by his passion for journalism.
